Subject Matter: This image was created while Susan was studying intaglio printmaking at the Santa Reparata International School of Art, in Florence Italy. The women at the center of the image were inspired by Rafael’s “The Three Graces” (Uffizi museum), and includes influences from the relief sculptures of Lucca Della Robbia in its circular design and images of peacocks perched in orange branches on the outer edge of the composition.
